A studio built on curiosity and shipping

Aurora Ivy follows an entrepreneurial path of its own: find real problems, solve them with products that deliver value, and improve the process behind them the same way, inspect and adapt.

Michael Munz is a computer scientist, data scientist, and entrepreneur. He translates operational pain points into scalable requirements, robust products, and business value.

His ambition and his passion: building products that deliver value. His method takes what is proven in continuous product discovery, lean management, rapid prototyping, and strategic product roadmapping, and combines it into one holistic framework that is applied and improved through inspect and adapt. A book about this method is in the works, working title: Value First.

The studio is deliberately small because execution is the product: speed, prioritization, attention to detail, and high standards. One person means short decision paths, and you talk to the person who builds the product.

What sets him apart

“What is your superpower?”

A problem solver. He does not accept “that is just how the factory runs”. He looks for the pain points people have learned to live with, and solves them by delivering value.

Strategic and deep: business vision and product vision on one side, hands-on into technical detail when the problem demands it.

The scope is deliberately narrow: problems where the translation from pain to value is the core of the work. Sales and brand building are the parts he is still learning.

Lamborghini paintshop: manual checks and downtime became instant error detection. Unplanned downtime down about 20%.

Audi China: production blind spots became proactive observability. MTTR from hours to minutes.

Linde MH: a failing project became a strategic partnership. Quick wins first, roadmap by business value, contract extension and follow-up projects.

The path so far

The path so far

  1. Aurora Ivy, founded.

Entrepreneurial responsibility, exploring what is new and turning it into practical solutions.

  2. Enterprise data strategy & reporting.

One standardized framework out of fragmented operational, machine, and reporting data. Data silos gone, queries faster.

  3. Linde MH, project recovery.

Quick wins first, then back to green. Trust restored, contract extension (SLA), follow-up Azure MES migration.

  4. Lamborghini paintshop, real-time inconsistency detection.

    Unplanned downtime down about 20%.

  5. Audi China, MES observability.

MTTR from hours to minutes, production blind spots gone.

  6. Hospitality-tech startup, product owner + fullstack.

Introduced Scrum, national and international customer projects.

Foundations: applied computer science with a specialization in cognitive psychology (University of Bamberg), research assistant in the Cognitive Systems Group, data science at La Sorbonne in Paris, and a work chapter abroad as a business analyst in Saint Petersburg.

Principles

Research first. Code fast. Ship things that are used. Keep them running.
